About this client/child:
Rose is 14 years old and the heart of a loving and supportive family; Mum, Dad, and younger brother (9). Rose is an engaging, sweet, and happy young lady with a love for music, arts and crafts, cooking, listening to stories and loud engaging activities. Rose sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result, is fully dependent on 2:1 support around the clock. Rose has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a tracheostomy, requires suctioning, a GJ tube (medication, nutrition, and fluid), and a visual impairment. Rose uses her eyes to communicate and can make her likes and dislikes known. Rose has a complex care team in place providing round-the-clock support, is home schooled and her house is fully adapted to meet all her needs.
Overview of role:
The Support Worker will work with Rose providing the highest standard of care and support, tending to all her health, care, and medical needs, this will include personal care, administering medication, preparing feeds, manual handling, implementing therapy, updating her care plan and records and working in collaboration with Rose\xe2\x80\x99s parents, medical professions and MDT. If Rose needs to sleep after a difficult night, the Support Worker will assist with light household duties related to Rose. The family is keen to find the right Support Worker to join Rose\xe2\x80\x99s dedicated team, therefore they are flexible and will consider a job share for the morning hours. We can also offer longer hours if desired.

This is a busy family home and Rose\xe2\x80\x99s team works like a well-oiled machine, it is essential that you are reliable, a team player, dedicated, and can commit to the position. For this position, it is imperative that you have previously supported a child/teen with complex care needs such as tube feeding, epilepsy, and suctioning. Training is provided however; you must have the basic skill set in these areas. Non-smokers/vapers only.
