What will you be doing?



We are seeking a talented individual to join our Finance team in London as Group Tax Manager who will manage the Group's tax affairs. This is role does not involve interaction with external clients.

As Group Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include among others



Lead on the Group's tax affairs coordinating with colleagues in Finance and external advisers as required. Lead on and be responsible for signing off on the Group's tax reporting and corporation tax compliance including: + Year-end financial reporting on a consolidated and legal entity basis;
+ Tax input into on budgets and forecasts; and
+ Preparation and submission of all corporation and LLP tax returns together with all supporting papers, for example, concerning:
- Transfer pricing and diverted profits tax;
- Controlled foreign companies;
- Corporate interest restriction;
- Research and development credits;
- Permanent establishments;
- Claims and elections; and
- CbCR and Pillar II reporting requirements.
Ensure all tax payments are appropriately calculated and made on a timely basis. Lead on the increased automation of the reporting and corporation tax processes. Manage the Senior Accounting Officer certification process. Oversee the tax affairs of overseas entities in liaison with their local advisers. Advise and lead (as required) on business projects including M&A. Maintain up to date documentation of processes and the review and sign off requirements for all taxes within the remit of the Group Tax function. Maintain an open and professional relationship with tax authorities. Dealing with employment tax matters including: + The tax review of P11D and PAYE settlement processes and returns which are run within the Finance team;
+ Short term business visitors tax implications; and
+ Ad hoc queries.
Ensure all tax matters are being dealt with in relation to employee share schemes and perform a tax review of returns prepared in the Share Schemes team. Work with the wider Finance team to ensure the business has appropriate awareness of the requirement for the tax impact of all group activities to be considered in business propositions. Oversee the Group's VAT compliance obligations for both the UK and overseas Responsibility for all the Group's VAT, GST and related procedures including, but not limited to: + Continued enhancement of processes to ensure compliance with MTD for VAT;
+ Training of business and others on their responsibilities relating to VAT;
+ Respond to VAT enquiries from the business;
+ Ensuring changes in legislation and interpretations are considered proactively; and
+ Dealing with VAT grouping/de-grouping applications.
Lead on Group Tax input on operational tax affairs which are the responsibility of the Operations teams. Build a network within the business. Assess and mitigate tax risk in line with the Group's risk appetite. Keep up to date with technical and legislative developments to ensure that impact assessments are carried out as necessary. Keep the Group's Tax Strategy up to date in line with legal requirements. Preparation of tax papers for executive committees and presentation thereof, as required. Lead tax audits and manage tax disputes or litigation with tax authorities seeking external advice where necessary.


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should



Significant experience gained within professional services industry Solid tax technical knowledge and experience including corporation tax, VAT and deferred tax ACA/ACCA/CA or Charted Tax Adviser (CTA) Strong communication and influencing skills; confident in engaging with senior stakeholders and business leaders. Strong leadership skills Ability to embrace change proactively
