About the roleCustomers come to us because we can take on and solve any kind of challenge, no matter how complex.Join our Enabling Functions team as a Group Buyer and you'll help make this happen!What you'll be doingReporting into the Group Senior Buyer, the Group Buyer will be responsible for managing a range of spend categories within the Balfour Beatty Asset & Technology Solutions (ATS) organisation.Categories include:

  • Facilities Management (soft)
  • Materials Testing
  • Waste services
  • Utilities
  • General Workplace Equipment
Key responsibilities include:
  • End to end sourcing
  • Contract negotiation and drafting, supported by Balfour Beatty legal
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Category planning / sourcing strategy development
  • Stakeholders relationship management, supported by the Senior Buyer/Category Lead
  • Supplier performance management / reporting
  • Supporting the wider team with other end to end sourcing activities for the internal business
Who we're looking forThe following skills and experience are essential:
  • Experience in procurement and category management, in particular running end to end tenders and sourcing activities
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating legal agreements including Terms and Conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and apply supplier relationship management skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to set deadlines and meet them accordingly
The following is desirable:
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.
  • CIPS qualified, studying towards or equivalent studies.
