The Role



Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team as a Groundsworker working permanently on our brand new contract supporting Cambridge Housing Society in our Responsive Repairs & Maintenance team! The Groundsworker will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of general Ground Work which includes fencing, slabbing, some brickwork and basic carpentry for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties. This will be covering a patch that stretches across Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge (Therefore travel is essential) Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-5.00pm

The Customer



Our contract with Cambridge Housing Society is brand new and launching on April 1st. This will be a long term partnership with houses covering the whole of Cambridgeshire, from Wisbech down to Haverhill, although primarily situated in central Cambridge. There are nearly 3,000 properties, mostly houses and flats, and we will be looking after their Repairs, Voids, Cyclical Works and Planned workstreams.

Duties and Responsibilities



The role involves carrying out predominantly Groundworks, Fencing and Brick work for Social housing as part of our reactive repairs and maintenance team You will ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision, communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Managers to ensure all follow-on works have been captured, leaving the resident assured. Taking ownership of work, aiming for 'First time Fix' on all jobs and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being Courteous and professional around the tenants You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas

What You Will Need



Essential Criteria Extensive experience in Ground Work/ Fencing/ Brickwork Experience in covering a number of trades and waste management Full, clean UK driving licence (Max 5 points) Excellent interpersonal skills Be pro-active in resolving problems Desirable Criteria Cat and Genny Social Housing Experience NVQ2 Building Maintenance Operative NVQ2 Bricklaying
