Job Description

We are currently recruiting a pre-award Grant Development Manager to join the Research Grants team to help secure increased funding and support for our research portfolio addressing key agricultural challenges including climate change adaptation, pest and disease management strategies, sustainable agricultural practices, food security and nutrition and digital agriculture. Your role will be to provide expert support and advice to our scientists within dedicated scientific strategic areas and across our research sites; engage in horizon scanning activities to proactively identify funding opportunities for our scientists and assist them with the completion and submission of research funding bids and compliance requirements to a variety of funders. The appointee will liaise closely with the scientific teams applying for funding across a wide range of disciplines relating to the agricultural and biological sciences.

The ideal candidate should have a resilient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to pre-award grant administration/ management. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are also essential. The appointee should have experience and ability to provide expert project costing, editorial and strategic advice to enable staff to secure increased research funding. You will report to the Head of Research Grants and will work closely with colleagues within the Research Innovation and Grant Office (RIGO) and the wider Rothamsted support services (finance, legal, HR, knowledge exchange, communications) to ensure submission of the highest quality bids and provision of non-financial post award services.

This is initially a 3 year fixed term post, salary \xc2\xa337,890 - \xc2\xa341,438 per annum dependent on experience.
