Graduate Teaching Assistant - Slough
Special Educational Needs (SEN) School
Full-Time, Immediate StartAre you a recent graduate eager to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Looking to gain experience working with students with Complex Learning Disabilities? If you're considering a career as a Therapist or Psychologist, this role provides an excellent opportunity to build relevant experience.Academics LTD is working with a specialist SEN school in Slough that offers personalized care for children aged 5 to 18 with mental, emotional, and social challenges. We are seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team.What We're Looking For:

  • Understanding of Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Ability to support children with a variety of needs including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, and physical disabilities
  • Passion for helping students develop emotional regulation and social skills
  • Interest in working with children or in SEN
  • You are determined, confident, and motivated
This position offers the chance to work closely with qualified SEN practitioners and psychologists, gaining valuable hands-on experience. It's ideal for Psychology or Criminology graduates looking to pursue a career in Mental Health or Education. While previous experience is welcome, it's not required-recognised qualifications include a Degree, Level 3 qualification, or any prior work with SEN students.Why This Role:This is an excellent opportunity to build skills by working 1:1 or in groups with children facing behavioural difficulties and complex needs, including Autism. You'll develop critical skills that are transferable to roles in Education, Teaching, or Mental Health.Role Details:
  • Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Slough
  • Salary: xc2xa383 - xc2xa395 per day (depending on experience, qualifications, and client rates)
  • Contract: Long-term temporary with the potential for permanent placement
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
  • Experience: Not essential but highly valued
