An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate MEMS Technologist (Micro-electromechanical systems) to join our team. This role will be located in Bristol.
Role Overview:
Candidates do not require prior experience of working in an R&D environment, however, experience within an academic or industrial environment will strengthen the application. Applicants should have the aptitude to successfully conduct original and innovative research, with the support and guidance from the experienced team they will be part of. The ability to comprehend and assimilate key aspects of the multiple disciplines encompassed within MEMS technology is also critical. The position provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience and expertise at the cutting edge of MEMS inertial sensor development.
Role Responsibilities:
Planning and execution of experimental investigations
Analysis of performance data and interpretation of results
Assist with project planning and delivery of technical work packages
Tracking and reporting of technical status on allocated tasks
Generation and configuration of relevant documents (e.g. target performance specs.)
Participation in brainstorming, problem solving and ideas generation events

Basic Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree (or equivalent level qualification) in Physics, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering or other relevant subject
Post-graduate degree not essential; however, nature of role will benefit from this
Experience in use of data analysis tools (MATLAB) and understanding of data gathering and analysis
Demonstrable ability to innovate and generate ideas
Preferred Requirements:
Basic understanding of MEMS technology and fabrication processes
Experience of working in an R&D environment
Experience in the design, operation or use of MEMS inertial sensors
Familiarity with Multi-Physics FEA tools (ANSYS / COMSOL / Coventor)
Practical ability to set up, debug and test breadboard electronics circuits for proof-of-concept and prototype development
Understanding of control systems fundamentals and using MATLAB / Simulink
Knowledge of inertial sensor principles, parameters and applications
Understanding of transducer technologies and techniques
