Hello! Are you a recent graduate in Archaeology or a related subject looking to kickstart your career in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy?

Great news! SLR are currently seeking a Graduate to join our CIfA Archaeology and Cultural team in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Stirling.

As part of SLR\'s Archaeology team, you will provide advisory and consultancy support to a wide variety of clients and sectors. This includes projects such as design advice for planning, design of mitigation strategies for preservation in situ, site investigation, historic building and landscape surveys. You will also have the opportunity to work on large scale EIA projects, CMPs, expert witness, interpretation, publication, and display as part of SLR\'s wider multi-disciplinary business

The role

Duties and responsibilities will include the provision of a wide range of project support, under the guidance and mentorship of senior staff and project managers, and will include:

  • assistance with research relating to a wide variety of projects
  • collation of information for reports, desk studies and applications
  • assistance with the preparation of information/scope of works for tenders and fee proposals
  • undertaking and management of site based work which will involve travel to/from site, and physical activities associated with archaeological site investigations and excavations
  • liaison with both internal and external project stakeholders as part of the day to day progression of project activities
About you

We are looking for someone with a relevant Archaeology, Cultural Heritage or related degree, preferably with some exposure to site-based activities or asset identification, alongside:
  • good communication and report writing skills
  • a confident approach to internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • good time management
  • the ability to conduct site-based work year round
  • an interest in pursuing CIfA membership
  • IT skills, ideally including knowledge and use of GIS software
A basic knowledge of the UK planning system, with respect to Cultural Heritage, would also be highly advantageous in quickly developing your career with SLR.

Please note that due to independent travel requirements, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role
