My client, a top tier, leading law firm located in the heart of the City, has a fantastic opportunity for a talented Graduate Development Advisor to join the firm\xe2\x80\x99s Trainee Recruitment and Development team on a 12 month FTC basis, to cover a maternity leave.
The Graduate Development Advisor will manage all HR and performance matters for the Trainees, working closely with Trainees to support them with their growth and development during their training contracts.
The key duties will include:
Liaising with BPP Law School on any HR issues and logistics relating to future trainees
Overseeing the correct payment of maintenance grants, course fees and discretionary items and overseeing the responses to all future trainee queries
Dealing with any Employee Relations issues that might arise before the trainee starts e.g. (ill-health, bereavement, personal issues) that may impact on their performance and wellbeing
Managing and assisting with Employee Relations cases including but not exclusive to, health and wellbeing, absence and performance management
Oversee the visa process for trainees in liaison with the firm\xe2\x80\x99s immigration provider
Managing SQE assessments (e.g. booking and results)
Be the point of contact for all current trainees, Group Trainee Partners and supervisors, building strong working relationships with the Group Trainee Partners including Managing Partner
Work with Trainee Recruitment, Learning & Development, Global Mobility and Business Development to proactively manage the trainee lifecycle
Managing the three and six monthly seat move process to meet the firm\xe2\x80\x99s resourcing needs while balancing trainee preferences
Moderating and reviewing trainee seat reviews to monitor performance
Managing the secondment process and reviewing all secondment terms for international and client secondments
Co-chairing trainee focus groups and leading on ad-hoc trainee projects.
The Graduate Development Advisor will have previous Development and/or HR experience and be able to manage ER and performance matters. Have experience working at another law firm or similar environment. Be Able to build strong working relationships with Partners, Trainees, the wider HR team and Universities, as well as, be a team player and have a can-do attitude.
