Depending on the team, most of our roles offer flexible working. We are currently working in a hybrid environment, with 1-2 days a week in the office.

What you will do:

• You will apply and develop your coding and analytics skills to grow Metro Bank\'s footprint in consumer lending, working on a range of projects within the team.
• Data Analytics:
• Use coding languages (SQL, SAS, R, Python) to accurately extract information from the database, manipulate and use various tools to create high-level analysis. Turn the insights into stories in the format of slides, reports or emails, which you can share with stakeholders within and outside of the team, in writing or verbally.

• Pricing and Value Analytics:
• Use valuation models to understand the profitability of our portfolio.
• Propose pricing trials/tests in order to optimise the prices offered to customers and assess the results using statistical approaches to build an understanding of the price elasticity/sensitivity of our customers and the effectiveness of our campaigns or journey improvements.
• Work with the team to improve the process of new pricing strategy implementations.

• Growth Initiatives:
• Use coding (R or Python) to forecast the response rate, accept rate and product preferences to maximise customer lifetime value and drive commercial growth.
• Understand the cost and benefit trade-offs and create profitability analysis and financial forecasts to propose recommendations to the business.
• Support marketing campaigns for new and existing Metro Bank customers and provide monitoring to gather learnings from the campaigns.
• Explore opportunities to improve the customer journey and experience while enhancing the originations and returns to the business.
• Support other teams and initiatives when required.

• Monitoring/Processes/Reporting:
• Create insightful dashboards in PowerBI to help understand business performance and customer behaviour.
• Perform regular monitoring of the performance of our portfolios and prices given to customers, to minimise business risks. Identify and escalate issues to your manager in a timely manner and follow up to ensure any issues are resolved.
• Operate in a compliant manner and ensure processes are being followed, risk of non-compliance is minimised and any non-compliance is escalated to relevant stakeholders.

What you will need:

• To understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
• To be passionate about using data and coding to solve problems and create solutions for our customers.

• To be able to work and learn quickly in a fast-paced, fun and dynamic environment.
• To have a genuine interest in financial services and a good business acumen.
• To identify personal development areas quickly and proactively look for opportunities to improve yourself, eager to learn new things.
• Have some prior experience using or willingness to learn a programming language (ideally SQL, SAS, R or Python) and a desire to work with code on a daily basis.
• Have solid Excel skills, and ideally some experience with more advanced features (VLOOKUP function, pivot tables etc).

• Care about doing a great job and exceeding expectations with the quality of what you do.
• Have a genuine interest in banking,data or analytics, if you have any extracurricular activities or work experience to showcase this, then please include in your CV and job application as we would love to hear about them!
