Woolley Park Golf Club is seeking to recruit a full time

Golf Services and Retail Assistant

to join our clubhouse team.

We are a family business operating 27 holes of golf, indoor golf simulator, practice area, putting green and a warm, welcoming clubhouse.

Reporting directly to the family, as our Golf Services and Retail Assistant you will ensure the daily provision of high quality, professional hospitality and retail services in the Club Pro Shop, golf reception and bar areas to ensure club members, guests, visitors, staff and management expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

The ideal candidate will be interested in a career in Golf Club Management and be IT literate. Experience of an electronic till system and credit card machine is preferred but not essential and full training will be provided.

You will be a well presented and highly motivated individual possessing an excellent track record in customer service and experience within a sales and retail environment. A keen interest in golf and first-hand knowledge of the game is preferred.

Your primary responsibilities will include enquiries, bookings, diary management, membership/society/corporate administrative duties, competition and handicap administration, front of house supervision and driving Pro Shop retail sales. You will also provide support to other departments, as necessary, to ensure the efficient and smooth running of all Clubhouse facilities.

You will be expected to acquire, through in house training and your own personal interest in golf leisure equipment, an excellent knowledge of Woolley Park Golf Club products, services, events, corporate packages, lessons, green fees, rental items, golf day and competition procedures.

You will be calm and assured under pressure and demonstrate excellent customer facing presence and rapport. You will be confident dealing with enquiries, complaints and problems politely and positively, making every effort to resolve them.

Working hours are seasonal, as we are busier in the Summer months. You will work five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday), starting at 10 or 12pm midweek and 10am weekends, depending on the season. During the summer you may be required to work a number of evenings a week and during busier times you may need to be available to work additional days or hours around your usual shifts.
