About the role:

We're hiring a Head of Finance to lead all financial operations for Sixteenth globally. This is a critical and senior role, responsible for the full finance function -- from day-to-day accounting to long-term financial planning. You'll partner closely with leadership at Sixteenth and collaborate with the broader Whalar Group finance team. This role is based in London or New York, and will play a pivotal part in scaling our financial infrastructure as we grow.
Here's what you'll do day to day:

Financial Leadership & Strategy
Own the end-to-end finance function for Sixteenth US and UK.
Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning.
Analyse monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial performance and forecasts, offering actionable insights.
Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities.
Manage the year-end close process in partnership with Whalar Group Finance and external auditors.
Provide hands-on leadership to a small, remote team across varied locations.

Accounting & Operations
Oversee accurate bookkeeping, reporting, and financial controls.
review Sixteenth's VAT returns.
Review and approve accounts payable, receivable, and Creator payout invoices.
Manage Sixteenth's bank accounts, including transfers, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
Prepare controlling reports and ensure internal processes are followed meticulously.
Manage commission payouts on a biannual basis.
Manage and maintain processes to support audit requirements.

Systems & Reporting
Maintain and optimize financial reporting in
NetSuite
.
Oversee reporting from our CRM platform, Pipedrive.
Own CRM related finance queries and provide training to new team members.
Create and update finance manuals and ensure compliance with internal SOPs.

Collaboration & Support
Serve as the main finance liaison to Whalar Group Finance.
Support the team with ad hoc and regular financial reports.
Partner with talent managers and operational teams to provide guidance on Creator payouts, contract structure, and financial workflows.
Here's what we're looking for:
7+ years' experience in a senior accounting or finance role.
Must have hands-on experience with NetSuite.
Clear communicator with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
Deep understanding of both UK and US accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Prior experience in talent management, marketing agencies, media, or creator economy businesses is strongly preferred.
Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently.
Adept at juggling strategic oversight with hands-on operational tasks.
