Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Project Leader to join our team in Cambridge.
We're working on a major new project to build a modern waste water treatment plant at Honey Hill, just north of the A14 between Horningsea and Fen Ditton. This new plant will replace the current one in the northeast of Cambridge.
As a Project Leader you will contribute to projects that significantly impact our environment and communities.
This role combines elements of both traditional Project Management and Design Engineering, creating a unique work environment where you can thrive personally and professionally, accelerating your journey to chartership or developing your cross-discipline expertise.
As our new Project Lead, you'll be responsible for supporting the Project Director, Commercial Lead & Planner in successful delivery of the Cambridge Relocation project by specifically focusing on Project Management, Health & Safety, Commercial, Risk & Value and Budget.

The role of a Project Lead includes:
Manage and maintain action logs for the project ensuring that all activities are captured and closed out to support final accounts completion
Establish and maintain the contract and Project filing systems
Collaborate with the Technical Manager and Design Leads as per the delivery strategy to ensure excellence in health and safety in design
Working alongside operational and commercial team members to ensure that technical, constructability and commercial aspects of project delivery are considered throughout.
Leading the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from the initial outline to detailed design, through construction, commissioning, and handover
Coordinating the supply chain and the discipline engineers to produce a streamlined design
Work with the Planner, design & site teams to update the programme as required.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers and their contracts and programmes
Manage subcontract packages and ensure they are delivered in line with the master programme
Building positive relationships with the clients' project, operational and technical assurance teams and promote a "one-team" approach
Maintain a positive and solution oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
Report all scope changes and ensure that the change control process and technical query process are adhered to.
Reporting into the Technical Excellence Manager, working alongside other mechanical, electrical or civil package engineers.
Ensure designs are developed which are safe to construct, commission, operate and maintain
Maintain good client relationships at all levels
What you'll need:
Degree in Engineering
Experience in the Waste Water Sector
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region Experience of supply chain expedition
Knowledge of water and waste water treatment processes (transferable skills from other industries can be considered)
CDM & Health & Safety knowledge
Proficiency in using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
