Job Role

As a General Plant Operative working under the CIS, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of our plant. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

Operating and monitoring plant machinery and equipment

Following Health and Safety guidelines

Performing routine maintenance and inspections

Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions

Loading and unloading materials

Maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Accurate record keeping

Working within a team to ensure production targets are met

Manual handling of materials

Using 180 and 360 degree excavators

Moving earth with bulldozers and dump trucks

Operating a crane where you'll work with a slinger signaller who'll attach the loads and direct you by signals or radio

Levelling out work areas with compactors

Using piling rigs and concrete pumps

Using forklifts to unload and move materials around the site

Carrying out safety checks on the machines you're using, changing buckets and other attachments

Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory controls.

Requirements

Work experience within the construction industry

Previous experience in a plant operative or similar role preferred

Ability to operate machinery and equipment safely

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects

Basic mechanical aptitude

Reliable and punctual

A strong understanding of health and safety procedures

Plant operator training, NPORS/CPCS

Valid CSCS Card

Driving License

Ability to wear provided PPE.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-17.00 per hour
