WHAT YOU\'LL DO

This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.

Based at Whitley within the Prototype Toolroom, the successful person would be expected to provide machining solutions to primarily support low volume prototype vehicle builds.

The role is to set and operate manual and semi-automatic milling machines, to manufacture vehicle components and low volume press tools in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Self-inspect and control quality of work manufactured
• Willing to support others and capable of working on own to provide solutions to a variety of machining applications

WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• A minimum of a Level 3 NVQ or City and Guilds or an indentured apprenticeship in engineering/relevant field
• Experience of setting and operating manual and semi-automatic mailing machines
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience of cutting a variety of materials, ferrous and non-ferrous
• Understand basic measurement principles
• Basic PC skills

Desirable

• Proto Trak SMX control experience and knowledge
• Experience of XYZ machine operation
• Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, COSHH and environmental procedures
• Overhead crane, slinging & lifting experience

Personal Profile:

• Must be able to work as part of a team or on own if necessary
• Attention to detail
• Good listening and communication skills including computer proficiency.
