Overview

The Tongadale Hotel is a 25 bedroom hotel offering comfortable accommodation. The hotel also has a bar and a restaurant seating 52 covers. The hotel has a long tradition in island hospitality having been owned and operated by the same family for over 70 years.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping

Stripping/making beds Cleaning bedrooms and bathrooms - ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained Processing laundry
Restaurant - Breakfast and Evening Service

Welcome guests/customers and escort them to tables. Take food and beverage orders Serve food and beverage orders Prepare tables Deliver checks and collect payment Clear used crockery, silverware and glassware from tables to the kitchen for cleaning
Bar

Prepare alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages Restock bar fridges Follow opening procedures for the bar (day shift) Follow closing down procedures for the bar (evening shift)

Work Patterns

Permanent position Monday to Sunday Annualised 40 hour per week over 5 days Flexible hours between 7am and 11pm Two consecutive days off Holidays calculated on numbers of hours worked

Qualifications and Experience

Required

Experience in hospitality Excellent time management and organisational skills Effective verbal communication skills Thoroughness and attention to detail Work well within a team
