The key function of this role is to meet, greet and seat customers in the pub and cafe hub area and serve their needs in a polite and friendly manner. Successful candidates should ideally have worked in the hospitality trade previously, and should have an understanding of how to take orders, make coffees and serve drinks (including alcoholic ones using beer pumps, etc), and use till software to enter and keep track of table orders. Serving and waiting experience is also preferable, and as we are passionate about food at all levels, we expect successful candidates to take an interest in the food being served (taking note of what the specials are, the soup of the day, etc) and to present to the customer an appearance of active involvement in the business as a whole. Experience in stock taking and rotation would be an advantage.
Although the facilities are technically open to the public, the vast majority of customers will be residents living in their privately-owned, close care bungalows, and residents / relatives from the care home who are able to, either with or without assistance from care staff.
