Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensuring that the shop is efficiently run, welcoming, clean and attractively configured including strong point of sale and clear price information.
Supervise and motivate the staff team ensuring the tasks on the daily schedules are completed to the required standard.
Develop and improve the performance of the front of house staff.
Assisting the General Manager with the management and supervision of staff with specific responsibility for the training of bistro staff. Includes ensuring staff appearance in order (including uniform)
On a daily basis check staff attendance recording any lateness or absence.
Source relief staff to cover for any absences.
Delegate front of house duties to the staff team..
Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and Food Hygiene System both front of house and kitchen, taking responsibility for corrective action.
Undertake all work detailed on the opening schedule delegating tasks to front of house assistants.
Liaise with the Chef on food availability and inform all staff of any menu items which are unavailable.
Deal with any customer concerns in a professional, timely and polite manner.
Ensure tills are stocked and emptied in accordance with trading levels and that cash collections are arranged as necessary.

Work with the staff team to prepare the take-away for the next day's service checking that all tasks on the closing schedule have been completed.
Ensure the security of the building at the end of each day.
Nominated key holder to lock up.
Monitor deliveries from suppliers making sure all delivery notes/invoices have been checked.
Ensure the completion of the weekly cleaning rota delegating tasks to the staff team as appropriate.
Requirements:
Experience in the food sector, catering and hospitality.
Barista training.
Experience of staff management.
Experience of financial management desirable.
A flexible and 'hands-on' approach in which, where necessary, all staff work at different parts of the enterprise.
A passion for local seasonal food.
