Job description

This is a self-employed /freelance French tutor role. You will teach French following the Kidslingo programmes and lesson plans. The classes are very fun, and are delivered using an action-packed combination of songs, drama, games, Makaton signs, actions, role play and stories. Lesson plans are provided but you would need to do some preparation to tailor these to the classes you would teach.

Own transport highly recommended.

The hours of work are varied and are term time only:

After school clubs in schools 3pm-4.30pm

NEEDED ASAP

School breakfast or lunchtime clubs School hours (delivering French at nurseries and preschools) There may also be scope for online zoom lessons, private lessons, venue classes and holiday clubs if you are interested.
The rates of pay varies depending on the length of the class and the experience of the candidate but are a minimum of 13 per 30 minute class / 22 per 60 minute class

Part-time hours: 1-4 per week with the potential to increase.

Do you have a high level of French and English? (You do not have to be a native speaker.) English must also be of a high standard to be able to give instructions. Do you have experience working with children ? Can you drive and do you have use of a car? Can you travel throughout the areas stated? Do you have use of a PC and printer? Do you have the right to live and work in the UK? Will you pass an enhanced DBS check?

Training

Training is provided in the Kidslingo methodology (in and out of class) and some independent online training is also required - child protection & safeguarding (unpaid). Lesson plans are provided for you , but you would need to do some preparation such as printing out worksheets, preparing flashcards etc.. and learning key songs.

As a self-employed position it is relied upon that you have the skills to teach French and that you possess the following:

Motivation and ability to work independently with limited supervision Common sense and reliability Enthusiasm and confidence Ability to engage with children and provide good customer service Time management and planning / prioritising abilities Sufficient IT skills to be able to upload / download documents, prepare lessons, use Powerpoint

Pay: 20.00-23.00 per hour
