We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Freight & Logistics Manager to oversee our client's transport and flagship palletised ambient site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of site activities, including transport, logistics, shipping and receiving, customs documentation and continuous improvement initiatives. To attract the best candidates, an excellent basic salary of
60K-65K, plus company car, personal fuel card, health care, pension contribution and a bonus
is on offer.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the site, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Manage logistics processes including all aspects the warehouse, transport planning, shipping, receiving and customs
Support the in-house transport planning team to optimise delivery routes and schedules
Conduct regular assessments of business processes for continuous improvement opportunities, cost reduction and revenue enhancement
Mentor and provide support to the in-house transport planning teams, and train /develop staff to foster a high-performance culture
Requirements
Proven leadership experience in warehouse and transport management, with a strong understanding of routing, scheduling, international freight forwarding and ideally, of customs clearance procedures
Experience in logistics / transport profit and loss management, with experience in supporting business growth
Good communication and organisational skills
Experience in retail, general haulage, 3PL, freight forwarding, or similar sectors
Proven transport management experience and ideally a holder of A CPC
