Job Description

We are now recruiting for a Foundation Year Pharmacist for 2025/2026 intake.

All requirements for this year are met including a DPP for the requisite 90 hours of face to face contact time.

We have positions available in East London, Bedford, Sandy, Canvey Island and Luton. We are seeking motivated, happy and hardworking individuals who are passionate about pharmacy and patient care.

Job Type / Category

- Developing good management practice through compliance with company systems and procedures, effective use of resources, and following Foundation Year Tutor instructions and guidance.

- Developing competence through training and regular appraisals such that customers and patients receive an excellent professional and caring service.

- Assisting in the operations and dispensing of prescriptions and the supply of pharmaceutical products including controlled drugs and appliances ensuring safety and clinical appropriateness.

- Responding to symptoms and recommending appropriate OTC medication.

- Working with legal, ethical and governance framework keeping abreast of current changes.

- Participating in the training programme as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council and preparing for the Foundation Year examination.

- Attending study days and completing pre and post study assignments.

- Communicate and liaise effectively with other members of the healthcare professionals and build relationship with external organisations such as GP surgeries and area teams.

- To develop knowledge and skills within each competency areas as mapped to GPhC performance standards.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

- Teamwork, verbal communication, commercial awareness, self-motivation

- Able to complete small research project during Foundation training year.

- Successful completion of a GPhC accredited Master of Pharmacy Degree (MPharm), which is a full-time, four-year course.
