NRA Roofing has a vacancy for a Flat Roofing Designer with interviews taking place end of May and a possibility for an immediate start thereafter for the right candidate. The post will be based at our main office in Ilkeston.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Industrial Roofing Designer to join our in-house Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful company that is at the forefront of the industry. You will be involved in a variety of projects, from inception through to completion, utilizing your design skills and technical knowledge.

Produce detailed drawings for flat roofing systems, including built-up systems, liquid applied (hot melt & cold liquid) systems, and single-ply membranes. Work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to understand project requirements and provide design solutions. Utilize CAD software to create accurate and efficient designs. Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards. Assist with project costing and material selection. Contribute to the development of innovative design solutions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and new products. Collaborate with the in-house safety manager to ensure designs meet safety standards.

About the Candidate

Proven experience in designing roofing systems preferred. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD). Knowledge of building regulations and industry standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills. Ideally, a relevant qualification in a construction-related field.
