King\'s College London is seeking an experienced Management Accountant for a new role in the Financial Planning & Performance team.

  • Working alongside the Senior Management Accountant (Reporting), this varied and interesting role will include:
  • Support and development of the recently acquired financial planning & analysis (FP&A) system for the annual financial planning cycle, and in-year forecasting of the I&E and cashflow.
  • Management Accounting report development, including assisting with the implementation of a Power BI financial reporting platform.
  • Process improvements of the monthly accounting and forecasting cycle
Previous experience of a FP&A system and Power BI reporting is desirable, but training will be offered as required. The successful candidate will be a part or fully qualified accountant with experience in annual budgeting, in-year forecasting.This post will be offered on an indefinite contractThis is a full-time post.Key responsibilities
  • Provide support and training on the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) system
  • Assisting with the design and development of a data driven, financial costing models for budgeting & forecasting purposes
  • Documenting and producing guidance notes for new models and reports
  • Assist in coordinating the annual and monthly financial reporting cycles for the Financial Planning & Performance team.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the financial Power BI reporting platform.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify reporting requirements.
  • Assist in ad hoc reporting and process improvement projects.
The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.Essential criteria * 2 years management accounting experience including budget planning and in-year forecasting
  • Accountancy qualification (Full or Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT etc)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills
  • Strong IT and data management skills
  • Good understanding of mainstream reporting and analytics solutions
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to be able to prioritise their work in the face of shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Good standards of written and verbal communication including strong interpersonal skills
Desirable criteria * Experience working in Higher Education sector
  • FP&A systems experience in either a user, support or development capacity
  • Software experience: Unit4 ERP (Agresso) or other mainstream accounting software, PeopleXD (HR and payroll), Power BI
