Job Description


Butler Rose is working with a family owned, multi-industry group based in Milton Keynes who are looking for a Financial Controller with Automotive/Motor Trade industry experience to join their team. This is a field based role with travel to Norfolk, Cambridge, MK and will pay Salary up \xc2\xa370k with an OTE of up to \xc2\xa385k pa DOE.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Manufacturer and legislative requirements.
  • Act as the Client\'s lead point of contact for external audit queries.
  • Provide analytical, administrative, and financial information and advice to department managers and the Finance Director, accurately and on time.
  • Work with the Finance Director and other managers in planning, forecasting trends, reviewing operational data, and revising plans on an ongoing basis
  • Co-ordinate the retail facilities\' systems to provide smooth, free-flowing information, co-ordination of data, etc.
  • Advise the Finance Director of any discrepancies or other problems encountered or highlight any concerns/potential fraud.
  • Answer questions regarding accounts, charges, or other transactions in a manner that is easily understood by the Management Team and does not use excessive technical jargon.
  • Monitor outstanding debtors and their agreed profile, ensure these are chased up and paid out within agreed debtor period
  • Induct new team members (e.g., explains work hours, procedures, use of equipment) to familiarise them with work surroundings.
  • Coach and develop team members\' job-related skills to support improvements in their job performance.
  • Participate fully in measurement and feedback processes, to complete and return personnel documentation on time and to embrace personal training and development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA OR CIMA)
  • Experience in financial leadership roles within the automotive or motor trade industry.
  • Month end & year end analysis
  • Competence in Microsoft packages and Pinewood system
  • Be able to communicate clearly & effectively is essential to this role
  • Maintain and handle a high level of record keeping and routine paperwork
  • Build a strong rapport and relationship with financial institutions and certain other businesses
