Job Description

Ferrybridge Workshops is are seeking a Finance Manager/Management Accountant to join our management team at our engineering facility near Knottingley. The role holder will be required to execute successful processes relating to all financial systems and ensure a smooth and timely transition to the new company.

Experience:



The successful applicant will have recent, comprehensive knowledge of Sage accounting systems including Sage50 and Sage Payroll, and will be involved with and confident in covering all aspects of finance, preparation of management accounts, processing of customer and supplier orders, contract and invoices, credit control, payments administration as well as general governance, as necessary. Experience with cost analysis within a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities:



Responsibility for the delivery of implementing all accounting procedures ensuring a robust system is in place.

Preparation & Presentation of financial information/management accounts to the General Manager and Directors.

Manage all accounting operations including, invoicing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting & VAT submissions & other HMRC statutory accounts.

Responsibility for all bank reconciliations.

Manage cashflow and day to day banking.

Support group head office with responding to queries/information relating to our financial postings.

Review financial processes and documentation, and drive improvements where required.

Additional non-finance related duties will include:



Administrative support with HR work such as preparation of paperwork such as letters & contracts from templates, recording notes of HR meetings, maintaining policies & procedures within the Company Handbook

Contract review (customers and supply contracts)

Maintaining business service contracts and working with the General Manager on compliance and quality assurance matters.

Other ad-hoc administrative support as required.

Essential skills required for this role:



Extensive accounts/book-keeping experience.

Excellent knowledge of Sage accounting and payroll software

Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft applications, including Excel, word & Oulook.

Ability to communicate well with people at all levels both verbal and written.

Excellent analytical skills

Remuneration is negotiable, dependent on experience and qualifications and breadth of skills, circa 35k- 40k per annum. We encourage personal development and will support further qualifications.
