We are now on the lookout for a

Financial Controller

to oversee and manage Proximo's financial operations. This is a critical strategic role, providing senior management with timely and reliable financial information to support decision-making and drive overall business performance.

This is a brand-new position, giving you the freedom to shape and develop our business processes as they evolve.

Key Responsibilities

This is a highly diverse role, responsible for leading the finance team, enhancing financial processes, and safeguarding Proximo's assets.




Develop and refine existing processes and procedures to uphold best-in-class corporate governance. Oversee month-end reporting, ensuring both deadlines and accuracy are consistently met. Collaborate with FP&A to produce and review financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Ensure compliance with corporation tax obligations, submitting all required documentation accurately and punctually. Regularly review purchase ledgers, ensuring supplier payments are processed correctly and on time, maintaining strong relationships with external partners. Support the Finance Director with funding requirements, reporting needs, and other strategic financial initiatives as necessary. Explore potential IT solutions or initiatives that could streamline financial processes, boost efficiency, and improve reporting quality.

What are we looking for?

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a strong background in financial control and management reporting. Practice-trained candidates are preferred. A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience. Outstanding organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. Proven leadership abilities and experience managing teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated experience in analysing and enhancing systems, processes, and financial strategies.
