Prepares, reviews, and ensures the integrity of allocated Business Units monthly financial reporting and controls including the monthly rolling forecasting process.
Work closely with the Sales and Operational management of the relevant business units through the provision of appropriate management information and guidance on the application of financial controls. Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses which will assist with management decisions.
Prepares and maintains controls over the integrity of the Balance sheet accounts through the provision of timely reconciliations that comply with the requirements of Emerson\'s Corporate Policies and Procedures and internal controls. Works collaboratively with the Global Finance Services team in Cluj supporting the UK&II Finance activity and control environment.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial accounts (US GAAP) within strict deadlines and against the month-end timetable.
Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of Sales and Orders Database reconciliation, Margin review and Sales Backlog Analysis.
Preparation and ownership of the annual budget and Mid-Year Review for allocated business units, monitoring actual spends against the budgets, identifying variances and providing explanations to management as appropriate.
Work with Operations and Sales to build a quarterly forecast for review and comparison against the budget and prior forecasts. Explain variances as required verses the rolling monthly forecast.
Budget preparation, analysis and review of cost center spend for the UK Business including the detailed involvement in the Project accounting cost center and resource utilization models.
Liaise with Internal and External Audit. as well as with Business Partners and the Shared Service Centre.
To aid financial decisions as new initiatives are identified & get involved with business processes, strategy and financial planning including use and knowledge of the Customer analysis and segmentation model.
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards whilst complying with company policies and procedures.
Also assist team with updating the Internal Control Questionnaire to ensure its integrity and relevance of current processes.
Adhoc/monthly travel to other UK&I sites is required as appropriate.
Cover for other members of the Financial Planning team and wider UKI Finance team as required.
For This Role, You Will Need:
Part Qualified ACMA/ACCA or equivalent by experience (a study package to complete chartered qualification will be offered)
Experience in a commercial environment - preferably within a manufacturing/engineering/project driven environment
Experience with corporate accounting systems (/Oracle/Hyperion) and proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
Communication and business English skills (Conference Level)
Proven ability to work with people at all levels.
Able to demonstrate a professional and self-motivated approach to work.
Ability to work under pressure and to adhere to tight deadlines.
