Job Description
A globally recognised bank are currently looking for a contractor to join their business on a contract basis until the end of March 2024. This is a unique opportunity for someone to gain invaluable experience working for a specialised division of this banking business.
Sitting in the Financial Accounting team you will be ultimately responsible for understanding the impact of IFRS 9 on their business including classification, impairments and hedge accounting.
Some of your responsibilities will include the below
- Reporting on the loans and bonds portfolios, including FVOCI and FVtPL assets.
- Understanding of IFRS 9 on the classification of loans/bonds, understanding the way to decide the classifications (AC, FVOCI, FVtPL).
- Focus on the ECL on debt instruments (IFRS 9).
- Knowledge of both the staging and ECL approaches.
- Equities quarterly revaluations.
- There are, additionally, equity derivatives, the movements of which can prove challenging to understand.
