Job Description
We are currently working with a well-known not-for-profit organisation to recruit for an exciting new Senior Financial Accounting Officer role
The successful post holder will provide high quality support to the Finance team through ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger and monitoring compliance
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing a regular schedule of review and reconciliation of all ledger accounts, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and cleared appropriately
- Managing the fixed asset balance sheet accounts
- Reviewing the general ledger, control and clearing accounts to identify discrepancies, investigating and making corrections as required
- Uploading journals into the finance system for approval in compliance with the journals policy and month end deadlines
- Managing monthly intercompany journal postings and preparation of intercompany reconciliations
- Providing accurate information for the annual statutory audits and internal audits, in line with timetables set
- Good technical understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting adjustments such as accruals and prepayments; understanding of fixed assets
- Experience of operating in a large and complex organisation
- Confident communicator with good written and oral skills
- Excellent IT skills, including advanced MS Excel and experience of handling and manipulating large volumes of data
- Experience using the SAP Finance system (Desirable)
