Job title: Financial Accountant - VAT

Location: Slough/Hybrid

Duration: 6 months initially

The role:

The Financial Accountant will provide continuity of critical accounting and reporting activities during a period of structural change within my client\'s organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with the commercial finance and FP&A teams, accounting team and outsourced service providers both on and offshore. The position performs critical functions during month-end close, quarterly VAT reporting cycle and supporting annual audit and reporting.

Responsibilities:

\xef\xbf\xbd Month end accounting for TM\'s operating costs including, marketing, customer service and operations.

\xef\xbf\xbd Accounting for VAT and population of quarterly VAT return for submission to HMRC;

\xef\xbf\xbd Oversee the activities performed by shared-service-centre teams across iProcurement, Project Accounting and Fixed Assets

\xef\xbf\xbd Posting of month end journals in Oracle Financials and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

\xef\xbf\xbd Reporting of Opex and Capex performance to internal stakeholders to enable and ensure empowerment and accountability for cost management.

\xef\xbf\xbd Reviewing and agreeing cost recharges from shareholders

Requirements:

\xef\xbf\xbd Experience of journal calculation and posting on Oracle R12 (ideally both GL and Project Journals)

\xef\xbf\xbd Good knowledge of UK VAT regime and experience of compliant VAT Return preparation.

\xef\xbf\xbd Preparation of high-quality process documentation including risk and controls matrices and swim-lane diagrams

\xef\xbf\xbd Highly proficient user of Oracle Financials and related reporting tools (eg MicroStrategy) to prepare insightful and engaging information for internal and external stakeholders.
