The Role

This role is Planning Executive (Project Manager) working across GroupM UK reporting to the Finance Transformation Director

We are a new team of business change professionals providing services to mobilise the new strategic vision set by our Global leadership team to future-proof the business and provide the best service, products and technology to serve our clients changing digital needs. This is an incredibly exciting time to join GroupM UK Transformation & Integration as we lead the way delivering transformation change initiatives to our business and agencies.

Background

Group M globally began a large-scale transformation 3 years ago with an ambition to make advertising work better for people.

One of the largest revenue contributors to parent company WPP, Group M UK is bolstering its offering in market to create a \'gold standard\' level of integrated services to its clients whilst its agencies continue to bring their individual strategic offerings, matched to their clients\' individual needs and digital marketing maturity.

To realise this vision of exponential \'connected growth\' and facilitate the required organisational change, a new team of transformation professionals is being embedded in the business led by the UK Chief Transformation Officer Catherine Wignall.

Approach

Adopting a \'people first approach\' and \'agile\' approach to business transformation, this new team of professionals will work cross-functionally across the business ensuring:

  • The right balance of new skills and widest variety of lived experience is injected across the business to complement our rich heritage right across the business. Fostering a culture of continuous learning, inclusion and fairness.
  • Establish and document \'brilliant basics\' in every core operation of the business, embracing a principle of continuous improvement to ensure our people have the time to focus on our customers strategic needs, offshoring or automating time consuming, low value tasks.
  • Ensure that tools and technology are integrated, rationalised, and built with the business user and purpose in mind so they are easily and willingly adopted by those who will benefit most from their use.
  • The integration of operational data right across the organisation, solving for a single source of truth that provides the business with a source of \'continuous intelligence\' that keeps us pointed in the same direction, enables agile decision making and surfaces potential opportunities to grow commercial success.

What you\'ll do:
  • Lead the planning and delivery of Transformation related projects and initiatives across different teams working in close collaboration with teams across the business; inside and outside of GroupM and including WPP, Technology, internal and third parties.
  • Responsible for overall programme delivery, quality, project health and success,
  • Co-ordinate delivery plan from concept to change delivered, working with the operational and data excellence teams and business stakeholders.
  • Set and govern core project and programme governance.
  • Deliver project reporting covering overall status, risks, issues and mitigation plan as well as highlighting benefits once they are realised.
  • Responsible for obtaining agreement and subsequent communication of project scope, governance, delivery plan.
  • Prepare and shape materials for senior stakeholder meetings.
  • Identifies and calls out emerging risks and potential roadblocks to successful early implementation.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to prioritise key process issues impacting delivery and with the support of the impacted teams tracking this through to delivery.
  • Promote new thinking, creative solutions and ways of working to address issues and mitigate risks.
  • Bring disjointed elements together to provide clarity and frame core decisions/next steps.
  • Lead continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Drive progress by using influencing techniques and chasing down actions, carefully minuting meetings and scheduling key agendas.
  • Translate business requirements to technical teams and have capability to understand technical solutions and impact of these to the desired solution.
What you\'ll bring:

In order to succeed in this role, you will have:
  • Finance experience, preferably within media Business or programme management in a media organisation.
  • A passion for change and delivering value to customers.
  • A blend of drive and diplomacy: the ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Prince2, Hybrid)
  • Strong structured communication skills (especially listening) that work for audiences at all levels and enable you to translate messages in a straightforward and simple manner.
  • The ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with a range of individuals at all levels in the organisation.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have excellent prioritisation skills
in order to balance key priorities. A \'can do\' attitude, will lead by example, and be prepared to go the extra mile when needed. * Strong leadership skills, ability to influence and communication with differing levels of the organisation.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
What we would love you to have:
  • Experience of working with or as business architecture roles to help agitate the strategy and ensure we are working on the right solution rather than the one the business thinks they need
  • Extensive change management experience in a fast paced and unstructured environment
