Job Title: Finance Officer



Reporting to: Assistant Finance Director



Role Term: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week



13.11 - 14.13 Per Hour



Summary



Support the sales and purchase ledger functions of Group companies and working closely with operations staff to ensure all transactions are appropriately recorded within the accounts. Assisting the Assistant Finance Director with accounts preparation, reporting and analysis. The Finance Officer should be able to approach decisions based on the Mavam triangle of goals: Employer of Choice, Excellent Service and Long-Term Financial Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities



Daily bank reconciliations and bank account maintenance. General, sales & purchase ledger postings. Ensure income is accurately invoiced, categorised and paid within the payment terms. Post daily purchase invoices to Xero and ensure payments made within payment terms. Obtain receipts for petty cash and credit card transactions and post to Xero. Monthly payroll journal postings. Monthly reconciliations and balance sheet checks Period end reporting and analysis

Other Responsibilities



Working as part of a team to maintain daily tasks such as post and email inbox. Implementing annual rate increases and liaising with local authorities to ensure a smooth changeover Assistance with quarterly VAT returns Quarterly auditing Detailed payroll analysis Maintain procedure catalogue Fixed asset identification and posting monthly depreciation Implementing new systems to increase productivity. Lead meetings and work closely with service managers to improve efficiencies Monthly accruals and prepayments Monthly deferred and accrued income schedules General office duties such as answering phone, filtering messages and general enquiries. Assisting with various ad-hoc accounting tasks as required Factoring reconciliation
Duties may be reviewed from time to time in accordance with the needs, services, and requirements of the company.

Requirements and desirables:



Accuracy & attention to detail. Good systems skills, to include Microsoft Excel. Experience of accounting systems in particular Xero 5 years' experience in accounts assistant roles or similar (Required). Level 3 AAT (Desirable). Right to work in the UK (Required)

This role is office based and you will be required to work 37.5 hrs Monday to Friday.
