About the role:
An exciting opportunity to join the finance team of a well-established Venture Capital Firm! Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Group\xe2\x80\x99s external reporting, with a particular focus on assisting with the Groups interim and annual report. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate closely across all aspects of financial controllership, covering the Group and its subsidiaries.
This diverse role encompasses various responsibilities, including monthly reporting, where you\xe2\x80\x99ll be involved in automating the monthly reporting cycle, as well as handling technical accounting, compliance, business partnering, treasury, and engaging in ad hoc projects. Additionally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll take on the line management responsibilities for two trainee accountants and interim finance staff.
Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7 Deliver the Group\xe2\x80\x99s financial reporting requirements to external LPs and shareholders;
\xc2\xb7 Collaborate closely with the Company Secretary and other internal and external stakeholders to meet relevant reporting requirements for the Group\xe2\x80\x99s annual and interim results;
\xc2\xb7 Assist in preparing annual audited and unaudited subsidiary company accounts in accordance with FRS 101, FRS 102, and GAAP in Ireland;
\xc2\xb7 Implement new financial reporting requirements and maintain technical accounting policies and procedures in coordination with other finance team members;
\xc2\xb7 Provide assistance with annual tax compliance and structuring processes throughout the year.
\xc2\xb7 Oversee the accuracy of day-to-day transactions posted into ledgers;
\xc2\xb7 Work to accelerate the month-end close process;
\xc2\xb7 Prepare monthly consolidation files and offer high-level commentary for analytical review.
\xc2\xb7 Improve the current balance sheet reconciliation process and develop controls over month-end reporting;
\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with the Group Financial Controller on automating transactional accounting and month-end processes.
Your Profile:
\xc2\xb7 ACA qualification with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience, coming directly from an accounting firm, or industry experience in a similar role since transitioning from an accounting firm;
\xc2\xb7 Possess strong analytical and control skills with excellent attention to detail;
\xc2\xb7 Display strong teamwork and communication skills;
\xc2\xb7 Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in Microsoft Business Central being beneficial;
\xc2\xb7 Able to work independently, solve problems, organise workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines;
\xc2\xb7 Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
\xc2\xb7 Continuously strive for process improvements and enhanced controls;
\xc2\xb7 Assist in supporting and developing junior members of the team.
