Company Overview Our growing restaurant and hospitality group currently operates 2 restaurant brands in London along with an upcoming third restaurant opening in the coming months. In addition to restaurants, our group has business interests in non-profit ventures, research and consulting, events, publications and many other businesses, comprising 40% of the overall business. Role Overview: We seek an experienced Finance Manager to join our group finance team based in London. You will report to the Financial Controller and oversee finance operations for 2 existing restaurants, 1 new restaurant opening, and the additional non-restaurant endeavours which make up 40% of our group\'s finances. This is a hands-on role encompassing all the accounting areas. Main Responsibilities: - Day to day purchase and sales ledger management - Develop and manage annual operating budgets for the restaurants and broader group, working with department heads to gather data and forecast expenses - Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts - Develop financial models and provide analysis to inform strategic decisions - Work with individual restaurant finance teams on budgets, performance, and opportunities - Manage Payroll and Tronc adminstration - Identify and implement shared services and process improvements - Manage accounting and reporting for non-restaurant endeavours (40% of group) - Support the Financial Controller with audit preparation and any other adhoc tasks - Continually assess and improve policies, processes, controls, and tools - Analyse financial statements, sales reports, and other performance data to identify cost reduction opportunities and areas for revenue growth. Secondary Responsibilities: - Manage insurance policies and risk management for the group - Oversee procurement and vendor management - Lead special projects and business case analysis as needed - Represent finance on cross-functional teams and initiatives - Develop and maintain financial control policies and procedures - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations - Collaborate with HR on compensation, benefits, and HRIS management - Partner with operations on inventory counts and stocktakes - Conduct competitor financial analysis and benchmarking - Prepare VAT filings and ensure compliance - Develop customer credit policies and oversee collections Requirements: - 5+ years finance experience including restaurant/retail/multi-site and management roles - Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Experience with restaurant POS systems. - Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software. - Strong analytical abilities and advanced Excel skills - Knowledge of accounting regulations and compliance standards. - Proven communication, leadership, and organisational skills This is an on-site role based out of our HQ in Camden with travel to our restaurants when needed with the expectation of being in the office 5 days per week for the first 6 months. After that period, we will evaluate moving to a flexible hybrid arrangement allowing 2 days remote work per week, based on proven performance and ability to collaborate effectively with the accounting team, cross-functional partners and CEO in a hybrid setting.
