2) The Role:
As the Finance Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Managing Director, playing a crucial role in advancing the company\'s growth. Your responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring the accurate production of Management Accounts to facilitate informed decision-making by the MD and the company.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Managing the small AP function, including stock invoice processing
Conducting payment runs and bank reconciliations
Ensuring accuracy of sales invoice postings between systems and Sage Line 50
Credit control activities
Maintaining accounts for the two companies, implementing strong controls and reconciliation processes
VAT preparations and filings
Overseeing payroll bureau results and HMRC reporting accuracy
Monthly accruals, prepayments, payroll journal, and accounting entries
Reconciliation of all month-end balance sheet accounts
Control of stock and suggestions for working capital improvements
Timely submission of monthly accounts
Leading the analysis of monthly numbers and presenting findings to the MD
Margin studies and profitability suggestions
Cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and forecasting
Building and maintaining effective relationships with external accountants
Maintaining banking relationships
Handling insurance renewals
Leading projects and other assigned duties as required
3) About You:
To excel in this role, you are expected to meet the following criteria:
Experience & Skills:
Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA)
Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach
Understanding of foreign currency translation and fluctuations
Knowledge of stock movements and control
Strong oral and written communication skills
Financial and business acumen
Highly motivated and driven with a strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent PC skills, with essential proficiency in Excel
Sage Line 50 experience
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues and other departments
Previous supervisory experience would be desirable
