Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join Van Elle, an AIM listed plc and the UK\xe2\x80\x99s leading ground engineering and geotechnical contractor. The role will involve working closely with the Management Accounts and Financial Planning and Analysis Teams with a focus on corporate reporting and compliance. The role is suitable for a qualified accountant with experience working in accounting practice. This role is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the growing Van Elle team. What you\'ll be doing

• Preparation of the monthly consolidation
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
• Management of several technical accounting areas including lease accounting, expected loss provisioning, goodwill impairment reviews, share based payment accounting, acquisition accounting and contract provisions
• Working with the finance team and audit team to deliver the year end audit and interim review
• Preparation of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s annual report including strategic report, corporate governance report and financial statements prepared under IFRS
• Preparation of subsidiary financial statements under IFRS
• Preparation of interim results
• Drafting key accounting matters papers for the Audit & Risk Committee
• Management of corporation tax including returns, estimates for financial statements and payments
• Management of overseas tax compliance and transfer pricing requirements
• Responsible for quarterly key controls reviews and testing

Who we\'re looking for

• A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with experience in accounting practice
• Experience of annual report and financial statement production with an understanding of and an ability to interpret IFRS
• Strong report writing skills with an ability to draft papers suitable for presentation to the Board of Directors
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
• A self-motivated individual who works well in a team and alone
• Highly organised with a structured approach to delivery of work
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills
• IT literate with strong Excel skills
