Portal House wishes to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take responsibility for the school delegated budget and the day to day management of the school finance.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent and current understanding of FMS and financial procedures, and be able to competently use the school's finance systems. Computer literacy and a sound knowledge of KCC Budget Planning Software/SIMS and FMS 6 are essential. Experience of working in a financial role in education is preferable.
This important role requires a flexible approach to working, good organisational skills, the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative plus good communication skills.
Responsibilities
The post involves a wide range of Financial and HR tasks including:
Budget preparation and monitoring
Preparation of statutory financial returns
Processing invoices, orders and vat returns
Maintaining financial budget files,
Mange Human Resources,including staff contracts and payroll documentation
Maintaining School Voluntary Fund.
Any other duties or tasks appropriate to the grade of the post assigned by the Headteacher.
Qualifications
A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous.
Proven experience in financial management, with a strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Proficiency in financial software applications and Microsoft Excel is essential.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
