Why this job matters

This role will be responsible for establishing excellence in finance data creation, maintenance and utilisation across BT. By reviewing and resetting our internal reporting data hierarchies, and ensuring the right technical and business processes for complete and accurate data, you will unlock and enable the enhanced capabilities of our SAP estate for planning, analysis and insight across BT.

This role is a 12 month project role. Working as part of a team of 3-4 working to deliver upon an agreed set of success criteria, oriented around the most important and visible finance performance metrics for each of our units. You will work through a series of complex technical solutions to land data completely and accurately in SAP in a useable, intuitive and efficient way. You will also be responsible for ensuring that at the end of the 12 month assignment, the business fully understands, owns, and maintains the solutions delivered so that the project team can stand down without risk.

What you\'ll be doing

• Deliver complete and accurate data across agreed dimensions in all business units and at Group level
• Maintain project tracking
• Key focus on all external and board KPI measures, including financial and operational KPIs
• Accountable for measuring and improving overall performance of end to end global finance data process covering planning and reporting end to end across the business.
• Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence, Digital, Group Finance and CFU Finance teams to develop solution designs to the existing data problems
• Influencing and educating a wide array of finance stakeholders on new processes.
• Developing, documenting and monitoring the RACI of the finance data process and controls, and holding people to account on commitments and deliverables
• Supporting the governance processes for P2P Roadmap delivery data requirements
• Lead, coach and mobilise other team members to define metrics and performance goals for the process.

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Financial controls, compliance and risk - You partner with related teams to provide audit and control testing for the business.
• Forecasting, planning and budgeting - You oversee and review forecast and budget details, demonstrating that you understand how they relate to each other.
• Accounting principles - You apply accounting principles (and where relevant financial statements), procedures and systems in complex and unique scenarios.
• Management reporting - You develop best practices in reporting. You make sure that your inputs are consistent and streamlined so that your reports will be too.
• Use data analytics - You identify opportunities to use data analytics to make better decisions. You deliver process, systems or tool changes to improve our data analytics capability.
