The team and role

Have you already graduated from University and able to start in April 2024? We are looking for a graduate to join our Consulting Finance team, based in Birmingham, to support the Consulting operations in all aspects of Finance. The team work on budgets and forecasts, management reports, monthly management accounts and annual external audit as well as other projects to support the Consulting business and Amey group. You will be expected to begin studies towards a professional accounting qualification and so this role would suit an individual looking to build a future career in Finance. As part of your role you will be trained in assisting in the following areas as well as all other aspects of the Finance function:

• Production of monthly management accounts and preparation of periodic budgets and forecasts.
• Completion of audit packs to assist in interim / annual audit process.
• Production and reporting of cashflow forecasts.
• Reporting and explanation of variances to profit centre managers.
• Analysis to help business managers understand and improve financial performance.
• Building relationships with P&L owners at various levels such as Project Managers, Project Directors, Account Directors and Business Directors.

On successful completion of this programme, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be progressed to a suitable Finance position within Amey Consulting.

What we need from you

• Minimum 2:1 Degree (ideally in Business and Finance, Accounting or similar but not a requirement).
• Some basic knowledge and experience of using MS office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Enjoy working in a team environment, sharing ideas, and collaborating with colleagues.
• Confidence to work under pressure, and the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
