Job Description


Robert Half are excited to partner with a Manufacturing organisation in Caerphilly to recruit a Finance Business Partner/ Costings Analyst to join their small finance team.

This role will play a crucial part in determining the actual cost and associated expenses of manufacturing our products, as well as analysing profitability.

As the successful Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • As the finance representative on the team implementing a new system, your role will be instrumental in ensuring its successful implementation and integration with existing financial processes.
  • You will be responsible for managing month-end duties related to job costing and cost of sales journals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Assisting the Finance Director, you will play a key role in preparing monthly management accounts from a project costing perspective, providing valuable insights into the financial performance of different projects.
  • Your role will involve planning, studying, and gathering data to determine the costs of business activities, enabling informed decision-making and financial planning.
  • By analysing company data, you will evaluate rates of labour, depreciation, and overhead costs, and provide recommendations for policy amendments that can enhance profitability.
  • You will support the production of financial forecasts and budgets, providing valuable input in the development of future financial plans.
  • Identifying and reducing the company\'s financial waste will be a priority, as you work closely with other departments to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assisting Operations Management, you will analyse Standard Costing, Actual Costing, Variance Analysis, and Stock Control to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Conducting thorough analysis on stock, including turnover, and accuracy of stock counts, will be essential in managing inventory levels and optimising working capital.
  • Supporting Sales management, you will provide analysis on pricing and profitability by customer, product, and sector, helping to drive informed sales strategies.
  • You will also be responsible for analysing buying price variances for key raw materials, identifying potential cost savings and negotiating favourable terms with suppliers.
Role Benefits/ Package Details:
  • Base Salary~ between \xc2\xa345,000 to \xc2\xa360,000.
  • Hybrid: 2 days from home, 3 days in office.
  • Monday to Friday, with flexibility working for working parents.

Desired Requirements:
  • Professional qualification in a recognised accounting body.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience and understanding of the costing process.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a methodical and organised manner, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements and drive positive change.
