Finance Assistant - Maternity Cover - Grimsby - \xc2\xa320,250

Chase & Holland are excited to be working closely with a well-established company within Grimsby, who are leaders in their specialist sector. As the Finance Assistant you will be involved in all aspects of a busy finance office including data entry, processing of supplier invoices and reconciliation of supplier statements, contact with customers and suppliers both face to face and over the telephone. The role is hands on and will need to be able to provide cover during staff absences. This is an exciting opportunity to join their finance team as in what is a varied position within a growing department.

Finance Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Processing of sales and purchase invoices including ensuring they are coded correctly
  • Prepare payment runs and information required for ad hoc payments, ensuring that suppliers are paid in accordance with agreed terms
  • GRNI reconciliations
  • Reconcile direct debits and standing orders, ensuring they are matched to invoices
  • Prompt monthly reconciliation of supplier statements including follow up of discrepancies
  • Handling and resolving queries
  • Undertake daily tasks to assist in the effective and efficient running of a busy finance department
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum two years\' experience within finance office including dealing with purchase ledger
  • IT literate, including Excel skills
  • A \'can do\' attitude and the ability to work towards deadlines
  • Good understanding of double entry and basic accounting principles
