About the Position Rowan Tree Cancer Care is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced financial administrator to join our team. The individual will be responsible for providing support to the Finance team with a focus on accounting and bookkeeping duties. This position will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Duties include =: \xc2\xb7 Ensuring Sage is kept up to date and all purchase invoices are entered and paid promptly. \xc2\xb7 Working closely with the independent accountant with end of year accounting and reconciliation of accounts. \xc2\xb7 Process the gift aid donations \xc2\xb7 Providing the CEO with financial reports for Management Committee meetings, some administration, including administration of the petty cash system. \xc2\xb7 Working with both shops and Cafe ensuring till readings and daily paperwork are processed on a regular basis. \xc2\xb7 Forwarding Supplier Payment to the Treasurer, which have been authorised by the CEO. \xc2\xb7 Bringing any finance problems to the attention of the CEO The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of accounting principles, strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, strong computer skills, and a willingness to learn new software. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday. Benefits include company paid health insurance, HSA contribution, 401K with company contribution plan, paid time off. Additional Duties: \xc2\xb7 Compiling the VAT Return (online quarterly) for all zero \xe2\x80\x93 rated, standard reduced rate VAT due: \xc2\xb7 Reconciling the VAT input/output records and control account monthly on Sage \xc2\xb7 Monitoring of donations made on line (Just Giving) and reconciliation with bank statements. \xc2\xb7 Preparing Payroll on a monthly Basis, ensuring all overtime payment are processed and checked. \xc2\xb7 Reconciling wage payments on the Bank Statement on a Monthly Basis. \xc2\xb7 Calculating and entering Payroll Journals on a Monthly Basis. \xc2\xb7 Consulting with utility companies, when contracts are coming to an end for the best new deals for the charity. Pontypridd Shop: \xc2\xb7 Calculating VAT Collected on sales of new goods and due to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) \xc2\xb7 Setting up of record keeping of all new goods \xc2\xb7 Updating Sage with all goods purchased on Ebay \xc2\xb7 Auditing shop takings against till z readings, updating Sage with sales \xc2\xb7 Check Daily Takings and Prepare for Banking. \xc2\xb7 Compiling and updating Pontypridd Petty Cash. Mountain Ash Shop: \xc2\xb7 Audit takings against till z readings and entering sales on Sage. \xc2\xb7 Compiling and updating Mountain Ash petty cash \xc2\xb7 Updating Sage with sales income \xc2\xb7 Auditing shop takings against the Bank Statements. Caf\xc3\xa9: \xc2\xb7 Audit takings against Till z readings and entering sales on Sage. \xc2\xb7 Compiling and updating Cafe petty cash Payments \xc2\xb7 Updating Sage with sales income (Includes Checking Visa Payments and Visa Charges ) Systems Set up by Finance Officer \xc2\xb7 Auditing shop takings against the Bank Statements. \xc2\xb7 Check Daily Takings and Prepare for Banking. Lottery: Checking Lottery Income, calculating Prize draw and deductions taken for running costs on a weekly Basis. Calculating and preparing payments and proof of receipt of prize, for winners of the Lottery. Banking: Checking Cash Takings for the Cafe, Pontypridd Shop, Lotto and Donation then merging and checking all balance. Then taking and Banking to the Post Office on a weekly basis. Job Type: Part-time Salary: From \xc2\xa312.54 per hour Expected hours: 14 per week Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • No weekends
