Job Description

As a Field Visiting Officer, you will visit customers currently without a TV licence at addresses throughout the Wigan area helping them firstly understand and comply with the legislation behind the TV licence, explaining how they can obtain one, and enabling them to find a payment plan that works for them.

• Compensation: You will be rewarded a salary of \xc2\xa323,680.40 pa, you will also be eligible for an uncapped commission scheme offering an annual average of \xc2\xa35,800 in additional earnings.

In addition, you will receive a tax-free business mileage allowance of 45p per mile on the first 10,000 miles (25p per mile thereafter) travelled. In addition to mileage completed between visits we also pay this allowance from and to your home address each day.

• Working hours: You\xe2\x80\x99ll be working a 36.5-hour week on a flexible shift pattern, with 16 hours to be completed between 4pm-9pm Monday-Friday or anytime at the weekend, with a potential of a four-day working week.

• Location: You will be home-based and spend your shift visiting people in communities across your region, Ideally you will be living in the WN postcode areas.

Core Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Conduct door to door visits to properties where no TV licence is registered.

\xc2\xb7 Listen to customer reasoning for not having a licence and make an informed decision on next steps.

\xc2\xb7 Accurately record visit details and complete daily timesheets via the handheld device.

\xc2\xb7 Explain and sell the benefits of all licence payment schemes.

\xc2\xb7 Take and accurately record payment details.

\xc2\xb7 Attend court when required to give evidence in prosecution cases.

\xc2\xb7 Carry out work and attend meetings as directed by the Visiting Manager.

\xc2\xb7 Taking Records of Interview under caution.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to bring:

\xc2\xb7 It\xe2\x80\x99s essential that you have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own a car, with at least a year of driving experience.

\xc2\xb7 You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to be physically mobile, as you\xe2\x80\x99ll be visiting multiple locations on a daily basis.

\xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an excellent standard of both verbal and written English.

\xc2\xb7 Similar previous experience is not essential - we have colleagues who excel from a diverse range of backgrounds, whether that\xe2\x80\x99s customer service, retail, sales, ex-Armed Forces or security, however, there is one thing in common \xe2\x80\x93 excellent communication skills.
