Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and adaptable

Field Service Engineer

to provide

relief cover across the South of England, including London

. This role is key to maintaining high service levels during staff absences and peak workloads, involving regular travel and overnight stays.

Working

Tuesday to Saturday

, you'll support the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced retail technology systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support, maintenance, and repairs on a range of retail technology products. Perform diagnostics and fault-finding, ensuring a "first-time fix" wherever possible. Carry out scheduled servicing and routine maintenance. Complete all service documentation accurately and on time. Conduct site surveys and communicate findings to the support team. Represent the company professionally, offering training and clear communication to customer site staff. Follow all Health & Safety procedures, both company and customer-specific. Maintain clean and safe work areas, proper PPE use, and tool care. Use and manage company-provided van, tools, and parts stock responsibly. Perform vehicle checks and upkeep to legal and company standards.

About You

Essential:

Full, valid UK driving licence Experience in a field-based engineering or technical support role Comfortable with hand tools and power tools Confident working with 230V systems Electro-mechanical experience Willing to travel extensively and stay away from home

Desirable:

Experience with retail technology or loss prevention systems

You'll also be:

Self-motivated and organised Personable, confident, and professional with customers Flexible with working hours and committed to delivering quality Able to work independently across varied locations
