Welcome to Oakes Farm Shop!



Oakes Farm Shop is a family run farm shop based in Balsall Common (CV7), and consists of a farm shop, butchery, delicatessen, and a cafe.

We are looking for a Retail Team Leader to assist with the day-to-day running of our farm shop (retail side) at Oakes Farm Shop. Working with your team and other department managers to reach weekly, monthly and yearly targets and setting achievable KPI's for your team.

Experience in a similar role and environment is essential.

Objective:

To ensure an effective and efficient running of the shop on a day to day basis by optimizing performance of employees to maximise productivity & turnover.

Duties to include:



- Ensure a smooth day to day running of the shop

- Assisting with the training and development of shop employees

- Liaising and negotiating with over 30 suppliers

- Encouraging excellent customer service at all times through motivating employees and ensuring all customers have the same experience through building good customer relations

- Maintaining a good working relationship with shop assistants and other department managers

- Introducing new ideas to the department, including display, products/suppliers and promotional suggestions

- Working with your team and other department managers to reach weekly, monthly and yearly targets

- Setting achievable KPI's for your team

- Efficiently serving customers and using the till systems for transactions/refunds /inputting information

- Liaising with suppliers and placing weekly orders

- Checking stock levels and stock rotation to minimise waste

- Ensuring deliveries are put away promptly

- Liaising with the other department managers to ensure that the highest levels of customer care are maintained

- Dealing with any customers enquiries face-to-face and over the phone

- Dealing with any staff conflict/disciplinaries and reporting to HR when applicable

- Ensuring that adequate cover is in place for any sickness, absences or holiday.

- Ensuring the open and close down of the department is done to a good standard

- Ensuring a thorough cross over between shifts

- Training and supporting employees with how to deal with customer issues

- Enforcing health & safety and food hygiene standards

- Responsible for cashing up at the end of the day

Working Hours


This is a permanent full time contract, working from 42 hours per week, over 5 days. It will include working weekends and during busy holiday periods.

Person Specification



Essential



- Previous experience working in retail

- Excellent customer service

- Ability to multitask whilst ensuring members of staff are working to a good standard

- Attention to detail

- Food and health & safety regulations knowledge

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

- Experience with dealing with staff conflict

- Experience dealing with customer enquiries and complaints

- Previous department management experience

Desirable



- Good maths skills

- An extensive knowledge of retail management with a proven track record

- Full clean UK driving license

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.70 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
