Yolk Farm is a vibrant agricultural business that combines the production of quality home-reared products with a welcoming experience for the public. We manage egg production, livestock, and horticulture, ensuring everything looks great for our seasonal events and general enjoyment of visitors. Our aim is to provide a space where the community can connect with agriculture, enjoy fresh produce, and participate in various farm-related activities.

Job Overview

We are seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Farm Park Site Manager to play a crucial role in the upkeep and operation of Yolk Farm's public-facing areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in agriculture or site maintenance, with a passion for ensuring a safe, attractive, and functional environment for visitors and the well-being of our animals. This role will focus on the essential behind-the-scenes work that contributes to a positive guest experience, including maintaining facilities, managing livestock welfare (specifically including our 500 free-range hens, 4 goats, 3 pigs and 7 alpacas), and supporting the setup and logistics of events. While primarily focused on site operations, there will be some involvement in customer-facing event support.

Duties

Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of Farm Park facilities, including buildings, enclosures, pathways, signage, and play areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-presented. Manage livestock husbandry, ensuring animal welfare is maintained to the highest standards. This includes the daily care, health monitoring, and coordinating with veterinary services for all animals, with a specific focus on the care of our 500 free-range hens (including feeding, health checks, egg collection, and maintaining their living environment). Plan and manage horticultural and ground care activities to maintain the attractiveness of the Farm Park, including the vegetable garden, lawns, and visitor areas. Support the setup and logistical operations for events, including preparing the site, managing equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Complete general repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively. Monitor and manage resources related to site maintenance and animal care, ensuring efficient use of equipment and supplies. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards related to farm operations and public access. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, animal health, and other relevant operational data. Practical skills in site maintenance, including general repairs, groundskeeping, and facility upkeep. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and a commitment to ensuring high standards of animal welfare, with specific experience or a willingness to learn about poultry care. Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely and effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks and priorities. Problem-solving skills to address maintenance issues and other operational challenges. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills for coordinating with colleagues and contractors. Some experience in event support or a willingness to learn.
If you are a motivated individual with a passion for maintaining a high-quality environment and ensuring the well-being of animals, particularly poultry, we encourage you to apply for this important role as Farm Park Site Manager.
