Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Pullet Rearing Farm Manager (Layer Pullets) to join our team based near Nuneaton to ensure that the farms continue to perform to our high standards. This role will require overseeing 2 farms in the area. With animal welfare being at the forefront, you will ensure all health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to.

With previous experience in a similar role, you will be a sound decision maker, who can work autonomously. You'll manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water and lighting patterns within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality environment so that the birds can thrive. Organised and IT literate, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring that an adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels.

Main responsibilities include:

Compliance with all company protocols and procedures relating to Poultry Welfare and Management, Biosecurity, Hygiene, Health and Safety and compliance with various Farm Assurance schemes such as RSPCA Assured and BEIC Lion Code.

Overseeing loading and vaccinating of pullets

Daily management and maintenance of the site

Managing ventilation, feed, water, lighting programmes and vaccinations according to company protocols

Regular bird welfare checks

Training of birds on our aviary system (experience of aviary systems is a benefit but not essential).

Overseeing relevant contractors/wash down of the site

Updating records daily

Communicating with other members of the farm team

Driving between sites - a full UK driving licence is required for this role
