Role: Family/Matrimonial Solicitor (opportunities for future partnership for the right person)



Location: Hybrid working - Full time (with 2/3 days office based in Telford)



Salary: Competitive plus bonus & dependent on experience

About the role



This opening is for a Family/Matrimonial Solicitor. Your caseload will span the whole suite of family law services, predominantly divorce and financial remedy. You will report directly to our founder Natalie Moore and will have the following specific job responsibilities:

1. CONDUCT CASES



Conduct interviews with clients & advise Assess legal problems Advise clients on costs Conduct legal research Devise outline strategy for case Draft case pleadings Obtain information from relevant experts Assess the strengths and weaknesses of your client's case and the other side's case Briefing Barristers Negotiate settlements Meet deadlines for court Issue proceedings Attend court with clients Court advocacy Maintain confidentiality

2. ADMINISTRATION



Complete time recording & meet targets Maintain files Deal with billing, paying costs and closing files Follow administrative systems and procedures Prepare cases, usually under pressure and to tight deadlines.

3. DEVELOPMENT



Participate in team meetings Attend internal & external courses Keep up to date with law and practice Keep updated CPD record and ensure annual requirements are met Assess situations from a commercial or business perspective

4. AREA OF LAW



To conduct Family/Matrimonial matters only in accordance with your level of experience and expertise.
You will be expected to communicate clearly and appropriately, both verbally and in writing, with all parties, whilst maintaining and developing excellent working relationships. You will need adequate negotiation skills when dealing with clients and other professionals to secure desired objective(s).

You will have knowledge or be willing to learn communication skills to convert client enquiries to retained clients.

Who you are



You are a fully qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8 years PQE and have the ability and confidence to work with no/minimal supervision. You will be experienced at dealing with all manner of family law matters and be fully confident and competent at dealing with financial remedy cases and doing your own advocacy from start to FDR.

This a hybrid working arrangement where you will be able to work from home from provided you can attend Telford office to represent our clients as and when required (typically 2-3 days a week).
