If you\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a role where you can support children and families whilst being part of a strong team, our Family Coordinator role might be the next step in your career.
No two days are the same for our Family Coordinators, as they play an integral part in the community by providing support from the moment families know they are expecting a baby and until the child or child they are caring for is eleven years of age.
As a Family Coordinator, you will provide tailored support, information and advice on a one-to-one basis, working individually with the child and the whole family through visits and meetings, working with them in their home environment, in school or in the Children\xe2\x80\x99s Centres to provide the right help at the right time when needs emerge.
We offer a range of activities and core sessions for children and their families to join us for fun and learning. Sessions you will deliver are designed to offer learning and development though play, peer support, role modelling and support for the whole family. This can range from our universal play sessions or targeted sessions, for example Talk Time to support with speech and language development.
With over 100 Family Coordinators based across our 18 Children\xe2\x80\x99s Centres, we have a great working culture, recognised by our Baby Friendly Gold Award. An average day could range from setting up and running a play session, working directly with a child or carrying out a home visit to meet with the family, followed by writing up an assessment, making calls, to ensuring any displays are creative and the centres are inviting.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a level 3 qualification who enjoys working with families to make a real difference in the community. If you\xe2\x80\x99re still unsure, why not contact us and drop by to meet some of the team. All centres are open between 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 9:00am - 4:30pm on Friday.
For the best opportunity to be shortlisted for an interview, please demonstrate through examples within your personal statement your skills, knowledge and experience that meet all the essential criteria on the job specification. Also, take into consideration the job outline.
Our model of practice
Stronger Together: \xe2\x80\x98You can, I can, We can\xe2\x80\x99
We have created a bespoke practice model that reflects and connects our vision, our value base and our behaviour as one East Riding of Yorkshire approach to working with children, young people and their families, which is nurtured and grown from within East Riding of Yorkshire CYPSSS and owned by our workforce.
We remain committed to Signs of Safety as a practice framework, but this is set within a much wider, values based, model of practice that clearly connects Signs of Safety with the East Riding value base, and our overall approach to making and sustaining relationships with children, families and communities. Our Stronger Together approach is strengths based, solution-focussed, and relational recognising that the very best work with families takes place within the context of excellent, collaborative relationships.
A well embedded model ensures we all have something to centre our practice on so that, while the work may be different, all our teams are grounded in the same values, beliefs, theories and approaches. Having a well developed practice model helps to create a common language for the service and enables everyone to understand how we go about doing the right things, in the right way and for the right reasons for children and their families.
