Hours: Minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm, including paid
30 minute morning break and unpaid 45 minute lunch break including any travel, with earlier finish
time on Friday afternoons if break times are adhered to through the week.
The full time staff will be required to individually work one weekend in four/five in order to provide
on-site cover. Days off in lieu will be arranged for the one weekend per month. This rota will
operate throughout the year including the winter months. Hours of work may change during the
Christmas season from mid-November to early January.
The Role:
We are seeking two Facilities Trade Technicians to join our dedicated Property team at Waddesdon
Manor | A French Renaissance-style chateau.
The Facilities Team is responsible for the maintenance of the commercial and historical properties of
the Rothschild Foundation, including Waddesdon Manor itself, The Stables, Windmill Hill Archive
Building, The Bow, The Five Arrows Hotel and The Dairy, and various other smaller outbuildings, staff
houses and general infrastructure.
What will you do:
The Facilities Trade Technician will be preferably qualified as a plumber or electrician. They should have
a working knowledge of planned preventative maintenance tasks associated with building services and
ideally will have some experience working within historic infrastructure.
Activities within the role are varied and wide-ranging, from repairs to the buildings, improvements to
properties to ensuring the continual upkeep and maintenance of the estate. Working closely with
internal departments to plan and assist with works required for Manor public events, exhibitions and
specialist Collection care and conservation are a key part of the role. Occasional travel to London to
provide maintenance support to our offices in St James' may also be required.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Undertake a range of building and grounds maintenance tasks, both reactive and preventative,
working either individually or as part of the team.

Ensure that you are responsible for holding the relevant qualifications and certifications for the
works that are carried out in order to be fully legal and compliant.

Carry out routine inspections of all plant, equipment and machinery to ensure it operates at
safe optimum levels.
?
Prompt and professional communication with tenants, stakeholders and Rothschild Foundation
departments as required.
?
Be aware of and use current Health & Safety best practices when carrying out works, and have
the ability to conduct dynamic risk assessments before commencing works.
?
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the tasks being carried
out.
?
Work alongside other departments carrying out and advising on maintenance tasks or
requirements associated with exhibitions or events.
?
Assist in keeping all workshops, works vehicles, plant rooms and storage areas in a clean,
organised and safe condition at all times.
?
Ensure that adequate stocks of spares and consumables are kept and replenished as necessary.
?
Carry and use the internal radio system to communicate with staff during work hours.
?
Assist with the general refuse collection/litter picking duties as and when required.
?
Respond to any disaster/emergency situations as they arise.
?
Use any of the assigned facilities vehicles as required to carry out the various tasks.
?
Wear the Rothschild Foundation uniform provided and replace any worn or untidy items as
necessary, ensuring a tidy appearance is maintained.

Experience - Essential

A qualified trade background as plumber or electrician OR Multi trade specialism acquired
through experience will be considered.

Flexible, adaptable, and able to work to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
?
Customer friendly and be able to work in and around the public and with internal departments.
?
A good level of communication skills is essential.
?
A full clean UK driving licence.
Experience - Desirable
?
Knowledge and experience of safe working practices, risk assessment requirements and Health
and Safety legislation would be desirable and training will be given;

Knowledge and experience of working in historic or commercial properties
?
IPAF,PASMA,LANTRA or equivalent licenses would be preferred.

available at 50% of basic salary for a maximum of 5 years.
Life Assurance - a lump sum of 4 times basically annual salary is payable upon death in service.
